Celebration of life services for Lance Copeland, 39, of Lubbock will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, July 27, 2012 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with Rev. Meryle Fulmer officiating. The Copeland Family will be ac-cepting friends at 12:00 P.M.
Lance passed from this life July 22, 2012. Lance was the only child of Lynn and Paula Copeland and worked in the family business for the past twenty years. After being a caregiver for his mother during eight years of cancer treatment, Lance continued to care for his father. Lance lived a full life dedicated to making others laugh and creating deep, harmonious music. Along with being a comedian and an extraordinary, self-taught musician, Lance also took pride in cooking and preparing meals for those around him. He was incredibly dedicated to his family and never failed to show love and com-passion. Lance was not only a kind hearted man, but also a devoted son, brother, nephew, and cousin.
After his mother passed away in July of 2010, Lance’s heart never healed. It was through music, comedy, and cooking that Lance tried to live as ro-bust of a life as he had before. Although Lance left this world with a broken heart, it has been pieced back together in reuniting with his mother and other family members in Heaven. We believe Lance is playing music, laughing, and celebrating up above.
Those left to treasure the memory are his father, Lynn, brother, David, both of Lubbock, aunts and uncles; Pam and Tom Hlavaty, Penny and Paul Tarver, Poni and Rocky Crocker, all of Lubbock, Steve Martin, Pris and Al Johnson, all of Dallas, Boyd and Phyllis Copeland and family of Broken Arrow, OK., cousins; Brooke Hlavaty, Paige Tarver, Payne Tarver, Laney Crocker, all of Lubbock, Shannon Martin, Wesley Martin, Michael Johnson, all of Dallas, Mike Copeland of Tulsa, OK, nephews; Chad Copeland of Jersey City, NJ., and Tyler Copeland of Charlotte, NC.. Proceeded in death by his mother; Paula Copeland, uncles; Paul Walter, Jr. and Charles Copeland, aunt; Pat Martin, and grandparents; Paul Sr. and Tommye Walter, and Boyd Sr. and Eva Copeland.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Joe Arrington Cancer Center 4101 22nd Place, Lubbock, Texas 79410.
