Juanita Evelyn Bowman was born in Athens, TX on September 26, 1923 to Doll and Sarah Tanner. She married Alfred Charles Bowman on July 19, 1941. He died on July 24, 1997.
She lived her 94 years to the fullest; enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, and embroidery, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Shirley; son, Joe; and daughters-in-law Ginny (Bobby) and LaFreida (Mike).
She is survived by sons, Tim (Jerry Ann) of Lubbock, Mike of El Paso, TX, Bobby (Mary Nell) of Lubbock, TX, and Johnny (Becky) of Mesa, AZ; daughter-in-law, Lucy Brown (Joe) of Lubbock; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive guests from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 23, 2017 in the Abbey Chapel at Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff with Accolade Home Health Care, and the nurses and doctors at University Medical Center for their kindness and compassion. They also extend a special thanks and love to the staff at Heartland House, Mom’s home for the past ten years. Their caring for her went far beyond the ordinary. She loved being a part of the Heartland family.
