Jean Ann Neal of Abilene passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 30, 2024, in Wichita Falls, Texas, at General Hospital. Jean Ann was born in Lubbock on May 22, 1941, the daughter of Jack and Jeanne (Jordan) McFarland. She lived most of her life in Amarillo before moving to Abilene, and later to Vernon.
Jean Ann married Robert Michael “Mike” Neal in Amarillo on December 18, 1973.
Amarillo was the place where Ann began her love of dance. She eventually owned and operated her own studio and hosted many recitals with the help of her beloved Aunt Nell. Ann loved her family deeply. She also loved and cared for many pets that she adopted throughout the years.
Jean Ann is survived by her daughters, JimAnn Bush of Vernon and Jan McCaslin and son-in-law Gary McCaslin of Abilene. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Tawny Hurst (Paxton Hurst), Kristin Wilson, Megan McCaslin Broussard (Trevor Broussard), and Gracie McCaslin. Jean Ann was blessed to enjoy seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Jackie McFarland and wife Judy McFarland, as well as many aunts and uncles whom she loved dearly.
A graveside service will be held for Jean Ann on Monday, Feb. 5th at 11:30 a.m. at Resthaven Memorial Park.
