I met Gary while serving at England AFB, Louisiana. We had a number of crazy adventures there. We became like brothers. I got out in 1991, but managed to stay in touch over the phone. I was able to visit him at his home in Washington, where I met his wife, Maria. 
I was saddened by his passing, and even more saddened by my inability to travel to Texas to see him off. 
My heart goes out to Maria and their families. I will miss you, my brother.

Back in 1982, Gary, Cyndi, Jason, and Amanda were my surrogate family as a single man in the USAF at George AFB. I spent a lot of happy times with them in the evenings and on the weekends.  Although we fell out of touch after our Air Force duties took us in different directions, my fond memories of those times have remained. I was saddened to hear of Gary's passing and want to extend my deepest condolences to the family.

Deepest sympathy to Maria, Jason, Amanda, and all other loved ones. I wish I could be there to comfort you all in person. I love and miss you all so much. Your dad always treated me like one of his own & I'll always remember that. I'm so sorry for your loss and just know that he is no longer in pain.
