Frances Ruth Ruff

Frances Ruth Wilson Ruff was born on 3/16/1931, in Lockney, Texas, to Robert Coleman and Ida Winifred Wilson. She was the 6th of 7 children. To place her in history, she spent her early childhood in the midst of the Great Depression and Dust Bowl.

In her 20's she attended Lippert's Business School in Plainview, Texas, where she met her future husband, Curtis Ruff. They were married July 1, 1954, and together they travelled to South Dakota and then back to Lubbock following Curtis's career as a court reporter. They owned and operated a freelance court reporting firm in Lubbock for over 50 years.

Frances enjoyed being at home and raising her family. After her two daughters grew up and left for college, she went to work at Texas Instruments for 8 years. Then in her 50's her children married and made her a grandma 5 times over. During the next years she became a great-grandma to 6 children. So her life was always full of family.

In her 70's she and Curtis helped everyone build and rebuild their fences. They were called the "2 Old People Fence Company" by their family. They spent their retirement days, gardening and trading houses and cars.

Throughout her time here after Curtis passed in 2016, she continued to lead a full life and was constantly fascinated by the world around her. The last few years she had company often and would comment that depending on who was with her, she watched all sorts of TV. When Cindy, came over, it was Gunsmoke; with Molly it was true crime, and with Jo it was Science Fiction. She lovingly cared for her fur babies, YUKI the cat, and Luke, Reagan and Ruby the puppies. One or all of them could be found right in her lap at all times.

Frances is survived by one brother, Raymond Wilson and his wife Georgia of Fritch, Texas; Two daughters, Jo Kizziah(Keith)and Cindy Ruff (Dan Miller); 5 Grandchildren: Kimberly Bocell (Bo), Jeremiah Teutsch, Daniel Kizziah (Jennifer), Molly Kizziah and Dennis Teutsch(Alyssa); 6 Great Grandchildren: Jay Bocell, Reid Bocell, Adelaide Kizziah, Eli Kizziah, Elizabeth Kizziah and Asher Kizziah.
