and graduated from Brownfield High School in 1958.
Doris worked in the insurance business, then became a remodeling contractor until her retirement. Doris loved her dogs, and gardening, but nothing could brighten her day more than seeing her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bridge and having lunch with her “lunch bunch” friends from high school and was an avid Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys fan.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughters, Stacy and husband Mark Barr of Big Spring, TX, Leslie and husband Tony Del Vecchio of Knoxville, TN, Kelly Schaefer of Lubbock, Tx. 7 grandchildren, Stewart Barr, Andrea Barr, Kristin Hill, Michael Schaefer, Harrison Schaefer, Kelsey Kerley, and Daniel Kerley, 5 great grandchildren, and cousin LeNora and husband Jerry Stockton.
The family would like to thank, Dr. Floyd Pirtle, Dr. Sanjay Awasthi, Southwest Cancer Center, and Accolade Hospice for their great care of our Mimi.
Memorial Services will be held at 10 am, Friday, October 27, 2017 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel.
