She was born to Maggie L. Kostra and Charles J. Graham on October 30, 1968, in Lubbock, Texas. Candace attended Lubbock Public Schools and graduated from Monterey High School in May 1986.
After graduation from high school, Candace moved to Denver, Colorado, with family and always enjoyed being in the Rocky Mountains. Living in Denver and Colorado Springs allowed her to enjoy winter sports, professional football, and major league baseball.
While living in Colorado, Candace earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Business Relations in December 2000 from Metropolitan State University of Denver, Colorado.
Candace’s employment as a claims representative in the insurance industry took her to several cities in the Midwest United States, ultimately settling in Amarillo, Texas, where she began a new career in law enforcement communications.
Candace is survived by her favorite cat companions, Tugger and Gronkowski. She is also survived by her mother Maggie Kostra of Plainview, Texas, and brother Dudley McMinn of Midland, Texas, along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles J. Graham, sister Debbie Carpenter, paternal grandmother Louise Graham, maternal grandparents Walter and Euphia Brian, and stepfather Walter Kostra.
Our family would like to thank her loyal friend and co-worker Amy Fritsch and the numerous nurses and doctors from BSA Hospital and Heal the City Amarillo who provided exceptional care for Candace over the last few years.
Because Candace was a staunch lover of her cats, the family would appreciate any donations to be directed to the local animal rescue entity in your area.
Graveside services are Thursday the 22nd at 1pm with Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.resthavenfuneralhome.com for the Graham family.
