Bonnie B. Crawford transferred her residence from Texas to Heaven on October 24, 2023 at the age of 92. Bonnie was proud to be from White Deer, Texas where she was the middle child out of seven siblings.
Bonnie graduated from White Deer High and went on to study business at Wayland Baptist College in Plainview. She met her husband, J.E. “Hank” Crawford in Amarillo and they shared 58 years loving family, friends and serving the community. They were lifelong members of Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock.
The majority of her career was spent as Secretary to Texas Rangers Company C, based in Lubbock. She served the Department of Public Safety for over 33 years, then went on to volunteer with Meals on Wheels for over 25 years. Bonnie also enjoyed training and working with her two therapy dogs, Buddy & Jake before she moved from Lubbock to live closer to her daughters.
She is remembered by family and friends for her quick wit, smiling face, fun-loving spirit, calmness under pressure, and strength of character that sprang from her faith in God. She accepted Jesus as her Savior as a child during a revival and remembered spending the summer reading her Bible. Her deep faith was not pushed on others, but was felt through her actions and quiet words.
She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Guess (Tony) and JoAnn Caster (Johnny), grandsons, Jason Guess (Erin), Steven Guess (Katrin) and Joshua Caster (Victoria), great-grandchildren, Eliana, James, Marion, Isaac and Benny, sisters, Guyda Webb and Linda Johnson (George), brother, Jimmie Baten, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Lighthouse of Care in Arlington, Texas where Bonnie resided for the last 2+ years and the thoughtful attention from Alev-Care Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 between 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
