Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, June 5, 2011, in Resthaven Funeral Home’s Abbey Chapel. Cremation will follow under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. Billy, known by friends and family as Pa Bill, was born on October 4, 1940, in Paris, Texas, to the late Gus and Corrine (Risinger) Parks. He married Sharon Moore on December 7, 1993, in Hugo, Oklahoma. Billy’s favorite past time was watching NASCAR while in his recliner. He also enjoyed, with a passion, dirt car racing, classic cars, and his beloved corvette. He was a member of the Caprock Classic Car Club and Caprock Corvette Club. He was employed by Acosta Sales and Marketing.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Sharon Parks of Lubbock; daughter, Tammy Guitreau and husband Glenn; son, Chad Parks and wife Denise; grandchildren: Sgt Chance Crochet (stationed in Iraq by the US Army) and his wife Jennifer, Cameron Crochet, Lainey Parks, and Riley Parks; great granddaughter, Makynzie Crochet; sisters: Robbie Boren, Sammie Kershaw, Helen Grimmett, and Debbie Kirkpatrick; brother, Lynn Parks; and numerous other family members, nieces, nephews, and close friends. He’ll also be missed by his cat, Kruses, whom Billy loved to play with. He will be loved and missed by all that knew him.
