Graveside services for family and close friends will be held on Monday at 10:00am at Resthaven Memorial Park. Memorial services will follow at 11:00am at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church at 45th and Memphis. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Bill was born on November 28, 1933, to the late Richard and Jasper Ruth (Bell) Breedlove in Lubbock. He grew up in Lubbock and graduated from Lubbock High School in 1952. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1956. After serving in the war, he returned to Lubbock where he attended Texas Tech University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising in May, 1960. He went on to own and operate Falcon Sprinkler Systems until he retired. He was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church of Lubbock.
He met and married the love of his life, VonDee Hamilton on September 15, 1955. She preceded him in death in 2008. They shared 53 years of marriage together which included their two children, Stacy and Billy. Papa and Grandee had five grandchildren: Jennifer, Jessica, Ben, Jordan, and Will.
Bill loved meeting his “senior” friends at the 82nd Street Café on Saturday mornings for breakfast and then finishing the day playing golf or gin at LakeRidge Country Club. He also loved his monthly Cousins Get-Together Group.
Survivors include his son, Billy Breedlove and wife Amy of Lubbock; daughter, Stacy Jones and husband Bill of Southlake; five grandchildren: Jennifer Jones, Jessica Jones, Ben Breedlove, Jordan Jones, and Will Breedlove; sister, Tippy Gowens and husband Norman of Waco; his cousins; and his loving friend and companion, Glenda Maxey Mathers.
Memorials can be made to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Hospice of Lubbock, or to Breedlove Dehydration Facility.
