Alma T. Jackson

A Rosary for Alma Teresa Jackson, 93, of Lubbock will be recited on Tuesday, June 22 at 7:00 P.M. at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel. A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Father James O’Connor officiating. She passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010. Alma Teresa Jackson was born September 21, 1916 on the family farm in Biry, TX. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Moody Jackson on August 9, 1974 as well as her siblings Ella, Margaret, Richard, Alvin, & Ralph. Alma was a beautiful servant of God, family & friends. She had a giving heart and asked very little in return. Alma was always a very independent woman who was filled with honesty & love for all people. Most of all Alma treasured her time with her grandchildren & great-grandchildren, and they loved their time with her. They will enjoy wonderful memories of a woman they all called “Nanny.” Alma is survived by her sister, Lucille Miller of Tomball, TX; a son, Rick Jackson and wife Diane of Lubbock, TX. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Greg Jackson & wife Leigh of Lubbock, TX; Amy Sparks & husband Tommy of McKinney, TX, and Staci Jackson of Plano, TX. Also left to cherish her memory are her six great grandchildren: Avery Jackson,Reagan Jackson, Britton Sparks, Caden Jackson Berkley Sparks, & Boston Sparks. Her family would like to thank her dear neighbors, caregivers, and doctors for their special care for Alma through the years. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Alma’s name may be made to St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church Building Fund, 2305 Main Street, Lubbock, TX.
