Steve was born on May 25, 1964 at Loveland Memorial Hospital in Loveland, Colorado to Rose Ann (Brackenbury) Jones and Dale Marvin Jones. He attended Loveland schools until moving to Ft. Scott, Kansas in 1977. He enjoyed photography classes in high school and set up a darkroom at home to develop his photographs. Steve graduated from Ft. Scott High School in May 1982.
Steve was a loving husband, father, best friend, brother, uncle and papa. Steve was intelligent, devoted, loving and kind. He loved his grandchildren and they treasured it when he would read them "The Wonky Donkey". Steve was a very talented woodworker and he would lathe beautiful pens, bowls and boxes to give to his loved ones. He was also a brilliant Computer Engineer. He loved working at NetApp and loved his NetApp family. Steve enjoyed travel and listening to music. He especially enjoyed listening to The Beatles, Los Lobos and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Steve was an avid Colorado Avalanche fan. He also had a great sense of humor that could reach anyone.
Steve fell in love with, and married, Susan Mary Jones in Loveland, Colorado. They would have celebrated 25 years of marriage on July 10, 2023. They were two peas in a pod who loved going to concerts and Colorado Avalanche games, and especially cherished time with their family.
Steve is survived by his wife Susan Mary Jones; four children, Jacob, Michelle, Jessica and Stephanie; seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Jade, Oliver, Ava, Oriana, Odin and expected baby Jones; sister Paula Clark and two brothers; nieces Lana, Tamara, Elizabeth and Lexi; nephew Alan; great-nieces Natalie, Bella, Olivia and Skylar; and great-nephews Jordan, Dillon, Jaxon and Nicoli. Steve is preceded by his father Dale Marvin Jones and his mother Rose Ann Crown.
Steve was a selfless soul. He knew how to love and he loved well. Steve was one in a million. He was the best and he will be greatly missed.
