Sean Steven Thompson

Sean was born on February 21, 2000, in San Diego, California, and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was homeschooled via AOP, graduating with honors in 2016. He studied business administration/ management at Colorado State University.

Sean began working at Home Depot when he was 18 years old, starting as a cashier and growing quickly into different management positions. His drive for success and leadership skills led him to his love for mentoring others. He always said, “When they’re successful, you’re successful.” He had many great mentors throughout his time at Home Depot and attributed his success to these leaders. They not only mentored him in his work but also in his personal life. One of these leaders, Danny McCann, was instrumental in propelling Sean’s career forward. Sean learned so many valuable lessons, including the worth of showing every person love and respect.

Sean’s employment at Home Depot also led him to the greatest love of his life, his wife, Allyson. They started as department supervisors but did not interact until they were doing store inventory together. As they worked, they bonded over their childhood experiences and quickly formed a strong friendship. As time went on they realized they were destined to be more than friends. After a few months Sean and Allyson decided to risk their friendship for true love. Sean couldn’t wait to start forever and asked Allyson to marry him seven months later. They were married on October 10, 2021 in Woodland Park, Colorado, on a perfect fall day surrounded by their family and friends.

Sean’s passion for adventure started when he was young. He grew up riding bikes with his sister, Chloe, which became a passion for mountain biking. His love for playing video games, especially Halo, started when he was young as well. Sean was incredibly gifted with technology and started his gaming on a computer he built himself. The love for the game allowed him to compete in the Halo Championship Series called Dreamhack in Denver.

Along with these passions at a young age, his grandpa, also known to him as “Dadpa”, introduced him to his love for music. Sean enjoyed all genres of music, and his playlist included everything from rap and rock to country and techno.

A day never started without Sean turning his music up loud in his car. If he had someone riding with him, it would turn into a concert. He loved singing to people in the car or at home. He would sing and dance for Allyson or anyone who visited them. Sean was never afraid to let his true self shine, and to be bold and honest. He set his goals in the stars and never feared failure.

Sean and Allyson accomplished so much together, both so proud that they had accomplished buying their first home in 2020. He thoroughly enjoyed hosting guests, tending to the grill, and playing games at home. He was always full of energy and also loved spending time outdoors. His favorite mountain biking trails were Soap Stone and Lory State Park. Allyson loved paddle boarding and Sean wasted no time learning and loving it too.

Among their shared passions, Sean and Allyson really enjoyed riding motorcycles. Sean quickly turned motorcycling into his second favorite thing to do, grateful to Allyson everyday for sharing the love of riding. He could be found riding around town on his red and black sport bike everyday.

Sean prided himself on always dressing well. This was not just limited to his clothes but ignited a true obsession with Cole Hann shoes. He collected a pair to match everything he owned and more because he liked looking good from head to toe.

We will deeply miss this special man who enriched and made our lives better with the gift of his presence. Sean is survived by his wife Allyson Thompson; mother and father Mackenzie Thompson and David Thompson; sister Chloe Thompson; brother Everest Thompson; grandfather Steve Coffin and grandmother Pauli Ingwersen; grandmother Michel Grace; uncle Miles Coffin and his wife Jordan Coffin; aunt Hailey Hazard; cousin Cameron Coffin; father-in-law Bryan Pote; mother-in-law Christine Kubitschek; brother-in-law Ryan Pote; brother-in-law Christopher Pote and his wife Molly Pote; sister-in-law Apryl Pote; and niece Lydia Pote.

A memorial service honoring Sean will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., at Abundant Life Church 5450 River Ranch Pkwy Johnstown, CO 80534. Please wear Sean’s Favorite Color, Red, in celebration of him.
