Jerome Anthony McKinnon, Jr., 36, of Glenwood, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Born on April 27, 1988, in Vidalia, Georgia, he was the beloved son of Jerome Anthony McKinnon, Sr., and Margaret Denice McKinnon.
Jerome earned his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Georgia Southern University. He built a very successful career as an Applications Engineer at Keysight Technologies in Loveland, Colorado. On October 30, 2024, Jerome married the love of his life, Myka Taylor-McKinnon, in a beautiful private vow exchange at Bear Lake in Estes Park, Colorado.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Jerome served as an Intelligence Analyst and generously shared his free time coaching a youth basketball team. He was a man of incredible depth—loving and giving, endlessly funny, fiercely intelligent, and a protector to those he held dear.
Jerome found joy in life’s simplest pleasures, from riding around in his beloved Toyota Tacoma (Smokie) to crafting tables and dressers with his own hands. Known for his resourcefulness, if he didn’t know how to do something, he’d turn to YouTube and master it. His laughter and determination left an impressionable mark on all who knew him.
Jerome’s legacy is carried forward by his devoted wife, Myka Taylor-McKinnon; his parents, Jerome McKinnon, Sr., and Margaret McKinnon; his two sisters, Jessica “Jet” McKinnon Page and Nellie “Nukie” McKinnon; his mother-in-law, Rhonda Henderson; his nephew Adonis Page; his godchildren; his family from Georgia Southern University, the 68th Electronic Warfare Squadron at Eglin AFB, and countless other friends and loved ones.
Jerome’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and the beauty of living with purpose.
He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
