Jim was born on June 16, 1959 to Magnus and Edna Pearl (Van Valkenburg) Easthouse in Fort Collins, CO. He passed away on June 4, 2023 after a short battle with cancer, with his wife and sister by his side.
Jim married his soulmate Jackie on June 1, 2002 and together they raised her son Jacob Grudle. Jim worked for Centennial Livestock Auction for many years until becoming a brand inspector in 2000. He worked in the Brighton area until 2003, when he was promoted to district supervisor in Larimer County and moved the family to Loveland. Jim was named Brand Inspector of the Year in 2019 for his exceptional work ethics, integrity, and livestock-handling abilities.
When Jim was not working you could find him and Jackie at a 4-H shooting sports event. Jim was a certified shooting sports leader for air rifle, air pistol, .22 rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader and his favorite, western heritage. He loved teaching kids how to shoot accurately and safely, and many of them became extended family to him and Jackie.
Being a Colorado native, Jim loved his Broncos and would watch them no matter what kind of season they were having. He also loved to be in the mountains hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, or just taking a drive to look at the aspen in the fall.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Jackie, son Jacob (Kelley), daughter Rachel, siblings Pat (Dan) and Richard (Donna). Grandchildren: Jane, Lizzy, and Hugh along with a large extended family. He was preceded in passing by his mother Pearl, father Mac, brothers Tom and Larry.
