Jacob "Jake" Stieb Jr., 96, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023 in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was born March 10, 1927 in Sterling, Colorado to the late Jacob and Apolonia Stieb. He was the second oldest of their eight children.
Jake had a career of 34 years with the U.S. Postal Service. He was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Loveland Elks Club. He loved to play cards.
Jake was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Joan Lechman; a daughter, Diana Luthi; two sisters, Anna Faraguna, Regina Lechman; two brothers, George Stieb, Basil Stieb (Margaret Ann); two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Stieb and Virginia Stieb Yahn; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard; daughter, Lynnette; brothers, Robert, John, and Leo; two brothers-in-law, Ed Faraguna and Vincent Lechman; sister-in-law, Barbara Stieb; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Stieb, and son-in-law, Steve Sorenson.
A Rosary for Jacob will be held Monday, May 8, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1730 W. 12 Street, Loveland, CO 80537, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 am. He will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic School or Pathways Hospice of Larimer Colorado.
