Donna Leah Wright

Donna Leah Wright, 84, of Loveland, CO passed away on Wednesday January 11, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family. Donna was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on August 9th, 1938 and she was the only daughter of Sigurd and Eleanor Gylling. She lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1956. Donna married the love of her life Terry (Wright) on October 14th, 1956 at Hazel Dell Church in Crescent, Iowa. Donna and Terry were married 66 years and had 5 beautiful children.

In her younger years, Donna was an avid horseback rider and loved photography. She loved reading books, needle punch, paper piecing and diamond painting. She was a master quilter and seamstress, which she passed on to many of her loved ones. Donna and Terry also enjoyed camping with their family and friends. Donna's Danish heritage was celebrated throughout her life and her Danish traditions were passed down. Eleskiver and Grandpa Sig's buttermilk pancakes are memorable recipes that were passed down from Donna to her children and grandchildren. Donna viewed life through a positive lens with her cup half full. She passionately encouraged and supported her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, frequently stating, "you're good, you can do it."

Donna was predeceased by her parents Sigurd and Eleanor Gylling, her brother Gary Gylling, her husband Terry Wright Sr. and her son Terry Wright Jr. She is survived by her children Connie, Kate, Chris and Julie, her 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

In Donna's words, "Don't ever sit around and cry for me - life is too short for that - learn to enjoy life and live every minute to the fullest."

A Celebration of Life for Donna will be held in conjunction with the Celebration of Life for her late husband Terry on Sunday, January 22nd, 2023 at 1:00pm at Allnutt Funeral Home - Hunter Chapel - 2100 N. Lincoln Avenue Loveland, CO. Family and friends are invited to come and share fond memories and stories.
