SERMON, WAYNE, 57, of Louisville passed from this life on Saturday August 27, 2011 at the Veteran Administration Medical Center. He was a retired mail carrier for the U S Postal Service, a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, an avid UK fan, loved horses and was a proud Marine veteran. He was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Huston. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, the former Patricia Wheatley; daughters, Tamala Geftos and Stephanie Hamblin (Sean); a son, Paul Sermon (Traci); sisters, Sandy Johnson, Tina Cook (Dennis), Patricia Foster (Ralph), and Tracy Sims (Bobby); a brother, Eddie Ray Sermon (Diane); grandchildren, Courtney Mills, Luke Geftos and Sidney and Sara Sermon; a great-granddaughter, Charlee Reanne Adams, several nieces and nephews and many close friends. A Mass of celebration for Wayne will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3509 Taylor Blvd. with cremation to follow. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Memorial gifts may be made to the Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.
