Wanda Lee Drane, age 88, returned to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. She was born on June 9, 1936 to the late Luther Lee and Jessie (Jones) Durham. She was a faithful member of Parkland Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Bradley Brimer, and his mother, Laura Brimer; and 2 brothers.
Wanda was an excellent bookkeeper who had a passion to help run companies. But her main purpose was GOD and her family, which she served faithfully. She looked forward to her yearly family Christmas party, the highlight being the game with many prizes.
Wanda was very dedicated to serving the Lord. She taught second grade Sunday school for 30 years. She sang in the choir and with the praise team her entire life. If she heard of a friend in need, she was always quick to give as much as she could.
For her last 30 years, several times a week she would make meals to take to her ill and homebound friends. Wanda loved to have fun with her group of friends that she met in her youth group at church. They ventured on numerous trips together, capturing thousands of pictures and even more memories. These friends who are all devoted Christians have remained by each other’s side through joy and tears.
Round all of that up, and add bowling, square dancing and watching Pat Sajak of Wheel of Fortune for 40 years, she has led a very full and blessed life.
Left to cherish her memory includes, her children, Greg Drane (Laurie), Nona Geide (Roy) and Rob Drane; eleven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of extended family, close friends and church family.
Funeral service will be at 11 am on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 3 pm until 8 pm and on Saturday from 9 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
