Virginia “Genny” Craine, 89, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday morning May 25, 2016. She was born on April 1, 1927 in Stanford, Kentucky, where she is affectionately known as “Polly.” She was one of 12 children to the late George and Katie Hazlett. Genny moved to Louisville in 1943 and worked at Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. She later became a displayer for Home Interiors.
She was a member of Shively Baptist Church for many years serving in the children’s ministry. She moved her membership to Southeast Christian Church where she enjoyed being a member of the Senior Adult Ministry’s Classic Worship.
She was preceded in death by her son, Sam Jackson, and is survived by her two granddaughters, Dana Jackson Ginter (Brandon) and Leslie Lash, her two great grandchildren, Alex and Logan Ginter, her two sisters, Sue Fox and Serena Mullikin, many nieces and nephews and loving friends.

The visitation will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 10 am – noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd, followed by a celebration of her life at noon with entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
