On February 24, 2023, Vickie Sue Brewer Ratanapool passed away after a five-year battle with cancer. In addition to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Vickie joined her father, George Lynch, her mother, Linda Adcock, and her beloved dog, Allie, in Heaven.
Vickie grew up in Fern Creek, where she graduated from Fern Creek High School. She continued her education at the University of Louisville School of Nursing and earned her BSN. She then worked as a registered nurse at Jewish Hospital. While at the University of Louisville, she was also a member of the Kappa Delta sorority.
Vickie married her high school sweetheart, Jeff, and together, they started a family and had two daughters named Alaina and Emmie. Vickie's love for her family was evident in each of her actions, especially her decision to commit full-time to raising the girls. During this time, Vickie naturally became a room mom, a PTA board member, and eventually a three-year PTA President at Stopher Elementary school. Vickie was the longest-serving board member at Stopher, with over nine years on the PTA board as a member or officer—a testament to her dedication to her family.
Vickie loved to go to the beach, spend time with her family, talk to her friends on the phone, and celebrate the Lord, especially with those at Life of Faith Bible Church, where she and her family are active members. She found complete joy there.
To know Vickie was to love her. Her heart was committed to those around her. She found the good in everything and everyone she met. She was selflessly strong. She will be missed dearly.
She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Jeff Ratanapool; two daughters, Alaina and Emmie; her brother, Bobby House Jr.; her step-sister, Ashley Ryan (Jeremy); her step-father, Ron Adcock; her nephews Logan Ryan, Owen Ryan, and Zachary House (Lindsay); and many other loving family members through marriage.
Friends are welcome to gather from 12pm to 6pm on Thursday, March 2, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. A service celebrating Vickie’s life will begin at 6pm.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.archlheadyresthaven.com for the Ratanapool family.
