Thomas J. Barr Jr.

The native of Louisville, retired after 37 years at General Electric. He operated the family-run Bar-Ran Litho and Racquet City Tennis Shop for nearly 30 years. Thomas was a 1958 graduate of Fern Creek High School. He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club, GE In-Plant Printers Association and the Elfin Club.

He enjoyed tennis, softball, his Dixie Chopper and dressing as Santa Claus at the GE Christmas parties.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. Sr. and Lorraine Bryant Barr. Along with son-in-law, Charles E. Lee.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann Sophia Mattingly Barr; children, Thomas Jr. Barr III (Robin), Lisa Lee and Theresa Martin (Jim); sisters, Elsie Carter and Barbara LeVold; and six grandchildren, Thomas J. Barr IV, Amanda Jean Barr, Bryan Lee, Samantha Lee, Jessica Lee and Dirk Martin.

Visitation for Thomas will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven. A funeral service for Thomas will be on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10:00am at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218 with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Rd.
