Susan L Proffitt

Susan is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Donald Proffitt, brother Hugh Hodge Jr., and sister Barb Kaltenthaler. Left to cherish her memories are her son Fielding Proffitt (Jennifer), step-children Damon Proffitt and Wendy Schneider (Erik), grandchildren Easton, Sierra, Donald, and Chase, and sister-in-law Margaret. Susan also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.

Susan was a lifelong resident of Lyndon and descendant of Alvin Wood, who founded Lyndon in 1871. She absolutely loved the beach and cherished her trips with family to Destin, FL. Above all else, Susan was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and devoted friend. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. The family would like to give special thanks to her niece, Susie, for her help and compassion over the past few years.

A funeral service for Susan will take place on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 1pm in the chapel of Arch L Heady & Son Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville, KY. Visitation will be prior to service from 11am-1pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation can be made to Hosparus Health Louisville or the Animal Care Society.
