Steve was born in Lexington, Nebraska on February 4, 1962 to Keith and LaRae Brown. He grew up in
Gothenburg, Nebraska with his siblings, Jim, Cindy, Becky, and Jeff.
While living in Arapahoe, Nebraska he was a volunteer firefighter and EMT. He worked as a small engine
mechanic for his brother-in-law, Marv. He also worked in Lincoln, Nebraska as a groundskeeper at one of the city golf courses. He loved being outdoors and working with his hands before losing his sight.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Keith Eugene Brown and LaReaRae Brown (Flynn) and
his dogs Pandora and Prissy. Steven is survived by Janine, his wife of 26 years, two children, Staci
Alldredge (Chris) and Ryder Brown. His grandchildren Nick, Alex and Matt. Sibling James Brown (Betty),
Cindy Matthews, Becky Crawford (Marv) and Jeff Brown and dogs Blue and Blitzen and many nieces and
nephews.
Steve had a wonderful sense of humor and spent many hours torturing telemarketers and scammers. He
also told terrible DAD jokes. He was extremely intelligent and was full of useless information which came in handy as we watched jeopardy. He loved music and shared his knowledge of music trivia with his son Ryder. He often would call Staci just to tell her jokes to make her smile when she was having a bad day. He shared a special bond with his granddaughter Alexis and he was her best friend. He and his grandson Nick would spend time together giving each other a bad time and trading insults. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday September 2nd from 4-7 pm at Arch L Heady at Westport Village Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville, KY 40222 (502) 426-9351
A gathering of friends will be held at Oline Sports Grill, 2813 Hurstborne Parkway after the visitation.
