Born in Louisville on June 6, 1956, Rusty was known for his caring, reserved nature, infused with a loving sense of humor that endeared him to many. His calming presence put others at ease and was the basis for friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Quite the athlete, Rusty played football and basketball and ran track in high school. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University and dedicated most of his career to his small business, RCR Enterprises.
Rusty was blessed with his faith, family and friends. His life was enriched by his hobbies, which included golfing, running, horse racing, and playing guitar. His most important role dear to his heart was as “Pops” with his children and grandchildren.
Rusty is survived by his loving wife, Sherri Craig; daughter, Kacy Renck (Justin); son, Justin Craig; and grandchildren, Violet, Iris, and Greyson Renck. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lucille Craig, and brothers, Fred, Steve, and Mike Craig.
A visitation to honor Rusty’s life will be held at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 11AM to 2PM. A funeral service will follow in the funeral homes chapel at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Parklands of Floyds Fork.
Rusty's legacy of love, humor, and kindness will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege to know him.
