Ronnie Dale Davis, 67, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on February 12, 2024, in his hometown. Ronnie was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was born on January 15, 1957, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Myrna Mae and Geneva Edward Davis. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jeanette; his two daughters, Sarah Musselman (Zach) and Lauren Peterson (Daniel); his sister-in-law, Pat Thompson, brother in law, Jerry Thompson; his dog, Ramsey, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his two sisters, Bonnie Lyons and Brenda Darnell, his brother in law, Bobby Thompson, and sister in law Geri Thompson.
Ronnie was a hard worker throughout his life. He began his maintenance and management career with Medford Property Company before transitioning to managing multifamily housing units with Raintree Properties. Later, Ronnie and his wife started their own business in general contracting, which they successfully ran for nine years. After closing their business, Ronnie worked in maintenance at several apartment communities and eventually became the Chief Engineer at the Marriott Hotel, where he retired in 2019. Ronnie was not only dedicated to his work but also building friendships along the way. He and his wife were members of Highview Baptist Church.
Ronnie's warm and giving nature endeared him to all who knew him. He never met a stranger and always went out of his way to help his neighbors and anyone in need. Ronnie found joy and humor in all situations and taught his family to do the same. He took the time to build others up and let them know they were appreciated. Ronnie loved spending time with his family and friends, whether visiting his best friend's pawn shop or playing Yahtzee with his loved ones. He also enjoyed spending weekends at the Flea Market, where he sold and often gave away different odds and ends he collected over the years. He had a knack for fixing anything and was always willing to lend a hand with odd jobs around people's homes. Ronnie passed on his handy skills to his daughters, of who he was immensely proud.
In memory of Ronnie, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Ronnie will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His family and friends will forever cherish his legacy of kindness, generosity, and love.
