Robert A. "Woody" Woodruff, 84, of Louisville, passed away with family by his side on the evening of June 6, 2015 at the Hospice Inpatient. He was a retiree of General Electric, with 36 years of service and a U S Army veteran of the Korean War. Woody loved to go fishing, which is something he did with all of his children growing up and play golf. He went back to school at Ahrens Trade to learn new things that he incorporated in his everyday life. He loved going to flea markets, collected coins and enjoyed his gardening. He was a member of Sts. Simon and Jude Parish and went to church regularly. Woody was definitely a huge family man. He knew how to be a great Dad to his children who meant the world to him.
Preceding him were his parents, William E. and Bernadine Meyers Woodruff, and his son, Danny Woodruff.
Left cherishing his memory is his devoted wife of 56 years, Jean Woodruff; children, Robert A Jr. (Kellie), Ron W. (Terry) and Kenny E (Melissa) Woodruff and Theresa A. Pendleton;his daughter-in-law, Julie Woodruff Safely; grandchildren, Christy, John, Emily, Hannah, Mitchell, Addie, Corey, Sarah, Morgan Nicole; and great-grandchildren, Braydon and Vivian, along with grand and great-grand dogs also survive.
A Life Celebration will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel, 4400 Bardstown Road, with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
