Bob was born in Urbana, OH to Robert and Catherine Conroy on October 20, 1926. He attended St. Mary's High School and graduated from Springfield College in 1948. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Philippines. In 1948, he married Betty M. Sidders. Bob had a long career in the paper board business and retired in 1995 from Southern Standard Carton Inc., having moved to Louisville with his family in 1964. He was a dedicated member of Mother of Good Counsel (now St. Bernadette's) parish, having served as a lector and an extraordinary minister. He was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and Optimists International.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Elaine Herman.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty M. Conroy; daughter, Connie Conroy Crawley; son-in-law, Arthur L. Crawley; sister, Sue Brennan (Ed); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am Wednesday at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 1395 Girard Drive, Louisville, with interment in Oakdale Cemetery in Urbana, OH to follow at 3 pm. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Tuesday at the Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, 7410 Westport Road.
