Richard B. Buchanan

BUCHANAN, RICHARD B. "RICK," 49, passed away Friday, April 29, 2011.

Rick had two masters degrees: in teaching and biology. He was an avid believer in the power of life and reflected this in his classroom as well as his love of the outdoors. Rick began teaching at Conway Middle School then moved on to his passion of teaching high school students at Butler Traditional. These were not his only academic exploits however, he also was a professor at JCTC and an AP reader for the college board.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Robin Buchanan; his children, Abby and Austin Buchanan; parents, Edison and Jenell Buchanan; and siblings, Debbie Vaught, Tim Buchanan and Thomas Buchanan.

A service honoring the life of Rick will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 3-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
