Paul Allen Mattingly Sr.

He graduated from DeSales High School in 1962 and played basketball at DePaul University. Paul served our country for 4 years in the U.S Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church. His career was spent in the car sales industry, working as a salesman and manager at Neil Huffman Volkswagen for 31 years and Bachman Volkswagen for 10 years before retiring.

If you knew Paul there was no denying that he had a larger than life personality and a giant heart. He loved his family and cherished his grandchildren. He will be so greatly missed.

Paul was preceded in passing by his parents; sisters, Ruthie Hawkins, Jody Burke, and Sarah Wilson; brother-in-law, Bob Dick.

He is survived by his son, Paul Allen Mattingly ll (Beth); grandchildren, Alix Mattingly, Morgan Mattingly, and Paul Mattingly lll (Natasha); siblings, Bob Mattingly (Lynne), Mike Mattingly (Lisa), Martha Dick, Mary Grimsley, Kathy Needy; and Paul ll’s mother, Vicki Mattingly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 31, at 10 AM, at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 30, from 3-8 PM, at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Road. He will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park following Mass.
