She was born to Henry & Selma (Froess) Karcher on December 12, 1933 in Buechel KY.
She was a member of St. Athanasius Church, previously a member of St. Francis Xavier in Mount Washington, and a long time member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Pat was preceded in death by her first husband and father of their five children; Delmar L. Hofelich (1952 – 1983). She was also preceded in death by her 2 children: Pamela Hofelich Scruggs (1985) and Larry Hofelich (1986). She was preceded in death by her second husband Cluis Dykes of Mobile, Al. (2001) and her third husband Charles Burton of Mt. Washington, KY. As well, four of her siblings: Gene Karcher, Jody Vice, Sonny (Pam) Karcher, and Emma (Mac) McDonald.
In 1975 Pat & Del moved to Mobile Alabama with sons in tow. There they found many new exciting adventures. They spent as much time as possible boating, fishing, shrimping, & Mardi Gras. Pat became the hostess, tour guide, & gumbo / seafood extraordinaire to any and all family & friends that visited.
She worked as an Avon representative for 30 years. She was a member of AARP, Joy Club, Moose Lodge 5, VFW 5710 & American Legion 157. She loved to play BINGO and spend time with her flowers and her vegetable gardens; which she gave away to her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Catherine (Dannie) Crenshaw, Donna (Kelly) McIntosh, & David Hofelich and her youngest brother John (Debbie) Karcher along with 14 grandchildren, and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be at 2 PM on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home (4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218).
Visitation will be from 11 AM until the service time of 2 PM, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Francis Xavier, Mt. Washington KY or Bridgehaven Mental Health Services.
