Norma J Delaney

Norma Jean Delaney, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, went to be with her Lord on January 30, 2022, at the age of 82. She was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Lenora and Joseph Davis. Her sister Deloris Davis and grandson Noah Delaney also preceded her in passing. She graduated from Atherton High and worked at the Courier Journal until she retired in 2001.

She was married on January 5, 1957 to Donald L. Delaney at Van Buren Baptist Church and they spent the most loving 65 years together. Having 4 boys, Don Jr. (Kathi), David (Chrystal), Dwayne (Cheri), and Derron (Amy).

Norma was the matriarch of the family, opening her heart and door to her family and their friends. She leaves her family with the fondest memories of her generous spirit, terrific sense of humor, puzzle expertise, Yahtzee skills, and crafting and painting with all the grandkids. She lived with a sense of history that she shared through her life stories. Summer vacations and family get-togethers will be cherished memories for her entire family. She taught us everything except how to live without her.

She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Brian (Jen), Roman (Lyndsey), Christopher (Shawnie), Katlyn (Tyler), Brandon (Katie), Eric (Jesslyn), Mariah (Michael), Nina, Shawn (Kayla), Michael, Ally (Garrett), Luis (Nindik), Logan, Avery, Grace, Jeremiah, Malachi, and Lexie. Her great grandchildren, Brooks, Ava-James, Kyle, Shawn, Kayla, Kyle, Nathaniel, Kelsey, Nick, Jemma, Jai, Kameron, Easton, Magnolia, and Lara. Her great-great grandchildren, Tanner, Lily, Ila, Alayik and extended family and friends.

A celebration of Norma's life will be held on Thursday February 10, 2022 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven,

beginning at 2 PM. Norma will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, Kentucky 40218.
