Michael James Shelton

Michael James Shelton, 66, of Louisville, KY, passed away on July 4, 2023. He was born on March 28, 1957, at US Air Base Spangdahlem, Germany. Michael was a beloved husband of 40 years to Belinda, a loving father to Michael and Brittany, and a cherished companion to his dogs Brody and Rio.

Michael was known for his handsome appearance, charismatic personality, and upbeat nature. He had a spiritual side that brought light to any room through his infectious smile and laughter. His positive energy left a lasting impact on all those around him.

Before his retirement, Michael was a dedicated Officer of the Courts for the state of Kentucky for over twenty years. Before moving to Kentucky, he was also awarded Probation Officer of the year 1991 of San Diego County, CA.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Marion Shelton.

Michael is also survived by his siblings; Lea Ann Shelton, Father Charles Shelton, John Shelton (Robert Cunix), Joan Shelton May, and nephews; Harrison and Christian (Kimberly).

A memorial visitation in remembrance of Michael's life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home at Westport Village, located at 7410 Westport Rd, Louisville, KY 40222, with a memorial service to be held following the visitation at 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Kosair for Kids, a charitable organization that was close to Michael's heart.

Michael James Shelton will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul find eternal peace.
