Michael F. Popham, Jr., of Louisville, Kentucky, born July 31, 1944 passed peacefully in his home January 12, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents Evelyn and Frank Popham, his sweet sister, Sandy Mancini, and his beautiful wife of 54 years, Brenda (Bruner).
He is survived by his grateful children: Tara Popham (Geoff), Shelly Stiles (Joe D.), Christopher Popham (Camie); the loves of his life – his grandchildren, Jake Rich, (Emily), Jozie, Josh, Nathan, Sophie, Finnley, and his one, and only great grandson, Lincoln. He also leaves behind his aunt Edna, Paula Rodman & Roger Bruner whom he loved as siblings, several cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and the best neighbors a person could ask for.
Michael was a retiree of Ford motor company 1999 coached at Lyndon ballpark and most importantly exemplified what a father and grandfather should be.
A service to celebrate Michael’s life will take place on Thursday, January 18th, at 1 PM, at the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17th, from 4 to 8 PM at the Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest following the service on Thursday at Resthaven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored by donations to Shriners children’s Hospital in Michael’s name.
