I’m so sorry to hear this news. As a nearly 50 year old now, I had both Mr. And Mrs. Pieper at PRP from 1990-1994. I tell people frequently that she was my biggest mentor. I still have the letter awarding me a spot on the school paper and giving my first boost of confidence. I had her for 4 years, 6th period. I adored her as well as Bo. I’m saddened to know too late to celebrate her life. I will “be kind” in her memory.

Mrs. Pieper was my 10th grade English teacher and for 11th and 12th grade, the Newspaper staff sponsor. She led by example and held us to very high standards. Even 30+ years later, her influence often makes me rewrite a sentence for more depth or clarification. Her legacy lives on in all of us who were fortunate to spend time with her.  My condolences to her family. Know that she  is loved and missed by sooooo many.

The Crow family was very fortunate to have Mary Ann as a friend and mentor during her years at PRP.  Her beautiful smile and effervescent personality will never be forgotten.  All of our schools would be so much better with a Mary Ann on staff to mentor our young people.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her family as she joins her best friend and love of her life Bo in Heaven.

I had the pleasure of having Ms. Pieper for 2 years at PRP, 79-80 and 80-81. She was always smiling. She left an impression on me that has lasted a lifetime. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. Tracy Ray

As a PRP Class of '75 alum I will always remember when Mrs. Pieper and Ms. House arrived at PRP.  She was the nicest, coolest and funniest teacher.  She would always share stories of her time at UK.  She would always say, "I can tell I am losing you "  and launch into a story about her time at UK like one time she had a professor that called her "Miss feffer".  We all would laugh and she would say "now that I have you back let's move on".  She would always joke that she and Miss House  were there on the "good buddy plan" and they always did things together.  To this day I still use the phrase "good buddy plan".  She was simply the best!

My favorite memory is one Mary Ann and I laughed about for years. She, Bo, Tommy and I went to the Kupper’s annual Derby Party at their house on Rollingwood Trail. (Ironically where she lived!) We were in the bathroom, and she told me how Bo and Tommy “treated us like queens!”  As she laughed, she leaned against the shower curtain and fell backwards into the bathtub! We could not stop laughing at the time, and every time, for years after, when  we talked about the incident, we laughed and laughed like hyenas!

I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of a beautiful and loved lady. She most definitely made and impact to anyone that was blessed to have her as a teacher.  I remember her first year of teach and wow did she make a great impression on us all. And she would want us to celebrate her life instead of mourning. Prayers to all of her family and friends.

I was a student of Ms. Pieper’s many years ago. She was well-loved by so many of us, and the news of her passing is difficult to hear. My sincere condolences to all her family and friends. She will be missed.

Mrs. Pieper was my guidance counselor at P.R.P high school.  I remember her as a sweet, genuine, and caring person who always had the students best interest at heart.   She will be missed.
