Martha was born and raised in Louisville, KY. She was a prominent business woman that owned and operated Miller’s Cafeteria until her retirement in 1998. She was an amazing cook who was vibrant, opinionated, artsy, intelligent, and adventurous. She traveled all over the world, but her favorite place was Florida. She loved her family, her dogs (Sugar and Pepper), Jesus, nature watching, and chocolate. Unfortunately, her disease took her from her family sooner than they would have liked.
She is preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher Thurston, her parents, Rudolph and Beatrice Miller and a sister, Stella Kaelin.
Martha is survived by her children, Cindy Strong (Bob), Hope Thurston (Rick), Shannon Windhorst (Andy), Gloria Bertrand (Bob) and Kristin Goheen. Grandchildren, Kaelin Reed (Amanda), Ashley Boswell (Evan), Brittney Allison (Steve), Drew Windhorst (Chelsea) Tyler Strong (Olivia), Logan Windhorst (Megan) and Hannah May. She is also survived by 10 great grandchildren!
A private visitation was held at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village.
Guests are invited to attend a memorial gathering at Martha’s daughter, Shannon's, house to follow. Please feel free to drop in and visit anytime from to celebrate the vibrant life Martha lived and enjoy the things she enjoyed in life….food and coffee.
