Mark Rene Locy, age 68, of Fisherville, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at his secondary residence in Fargo, ND. He was the son of the late James Rene Locy and Marilyn Locy (who resides in Fargo). He was born on March 20, 1955 in Oakland, California. He was retired, having had worked in restaurants his whole life with his latest (and most proud) accomplishments being co-owner of Little Caesars in Owensboro, KY and Right at Home Louisville, KY and Clarksville, IN. He was, and always will be, his wife Jeannie Locy’s, love of her life and her hero. He loved his family and friends with all of his heart. He loved grilling food, especially wings, for them. Mark was an awesome mentor to many.
He leaves behind to cherish his life, his wife, Jeannie Locy, mother Marilyn Locy and sisters Stacey Bush (Dave Bush – husband) & Doreen Hurlburt (Paul Hurlburt – husband), nieces Peyton Bush and Jaime Hurlburt & nephews Devin Bush and Marc Hurlburt (wife Stephanie Hurlburt and their children) in Fargo, ND and sisters-in-law Michelle Schmitt (Dale Crawford) and Kim Jones, brother-in-law David Schmitt, and his nieces Amber Stickler (husband Jimmy Stickler & their children), Felisha Weller (husband Eric) nephews Matthew Simpson of Louisville, KY and Brian Simpson (wife Graceleen & their newborn) of British Columbia, Canada. He will be sorely missed by all of his friends and family.
The visitation will be held from 11 am to 2p at Arch L Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home at 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY with the service commencing at 2pm. His wish was to be cremated, which occurred in Fargo, in order that Jeannie be able to bring him home with her. Therefore, there will be no graveside service.
Following the in-house service, everyone is invited to Mark & Jeannie’s home at 1307 Kennesaw Creek Way, Fisherville, 40023 for refreshments.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Animal Care Society of Louisville or to Wounded Warrior Project.
