Marilyn Klopfenstein, 70, of Louisville, passed away on December 11, 2024, surrounded by her four children. Marilyn was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and businesswoman whose compassion, empathy, and unwavering strength touched the lives of everyone she encountered.
She and her late husband, Dr. James Klopfenstein DVM, founded the Fairdale Animal Clinic, which served the community for 25 years. Her giving heart and commitment to caring for others extended not only to her family but to countless pets and their owners, with whom she shared her warmth and expertise over the years.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 30 years, Dr. James Klopfenstein DVM; her siblings, Deborah Louise Barter and Charles Garnett Phillips Jr.; and her parents, Charles Garnett and Helen Lucille Phillips.
She is survived by her children, Tracy Nolan (Sylvester), Jennifer Hammond (Mike), Joshua Roseberry (Amanda), and Brian Roseberry (Codi). Marilyn was also a proud grandmother to Chelsea Cornelius, Samantha Nolan, Sydney Nolan, Kaylee Roseberry, Nate Hammond, Penelope Hammond, and Arabella Roseberry.
Marilyn’s warm spirit, unwavering love for her family, and dedication to the community will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and the many lives she touched over the years.
An inurnment will take place at a later date in Resthaven Memorial Park.
