Marie Reis, 98, passed away on April 25, 2019. She was born on September 6, 1920 in Louisville to the late Jack and Emma Lee Wills. Marie was a member of St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church where she was proud to be one of the eldest members of the church. In her earlier years she enjoyed bowling with her friends. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and went to games until the last several years of her life. Marie’s favorite color was pink and she was known for having the walls, carpet and tile of her home in shades of pink. If you were to ask her sons, they would tell you she was the best mother you could ever have!
In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her husband, William Clifford Reis Sr.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, William C. (Belinda) Reis Jr. and Robert W. Reis; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ben) Brown and Jeff Reis; great grandchildren, Micah and Eli Brown; and her lifelong neighbor, Joy Wells Collis. The family would like to make a special thanks to Marie’s care takers, Janiel Dennison and Stephanie Harrod and her mother Annette, and to Gail Sherman and her sister Debbie for all the wonderful things they’ve done for Marie.
A service to celebrate Marie’s life will take place at 12 pm on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will accept guests for visitation at the funeral home on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 3-8pm and before the service on Monday from 10-12pm.
