Born in London, Kentucky on Thursday, March 21, 1946, Mamie was the daughter of the lates', Jim Philpot & Hazel Ray. She attended and graduated from Hazel Green High School and worked as a Nurses’ Aide in the Medical Field. Mamie was a complex lady, with a strong will. She touched many people’s lives in many ways. She was always willing to lend an ear to anyone who needed a “therapy session.” She held very strong convictions, and her family was her whole life. She loved her children, grandchildren and great – grandchildren dearly, not forgetting her love for her four – legged companion, Little Man. She could often be found working puzzles and crafting, two of her beloved pastimes. Mamie loved to bake, being known for her Strawberry cake and fudge. Mamie lived a full life! A life – well – lived!
Besides her parents, Jim and Hazel Philpot; her husband, Rick Stephens; her brothers and sisters, Opal, Roy, George, Bill, Elmo and Elizabeth, precede Mamie in her passing.
