Lora Mae (Wiseman) Simmons Burnett, 83, died Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Jewish Hospital. She was born June 15, 1932 in Ballardsville, Kentucky to the late Benjamin Wiseman and Martha (West) Wiseman Toomer. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred Simmons, second husband, Raymond Burnett, and children, Glenn Burnett and Patricia Simmons Brown Meece. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother who could always be counted on for a good meal including her famous biscuits, gravy, and fried chicken.
She is survived by her children, Dennis Simmons (Mary Lou), Rodney Burnett (Kathy), Ronald Burnett, Loretta Burnett, and Rita Burnett Broyles and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Wednesday at Arch L. Heady and Son Southern Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Louisville, Kentucky. Her funeral service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
