Lewis Lampton, 84, of Louisville passed away on February 20, 2011 at Baptist Hospital East. He was born on September 6, 1926 to the late Charles Dexter and Lorena Jones Lampton. He was the former owner of Convenient Food Mart #111 and was a supervisor for American Tobacco Company. He was a United States Navy Seabees Veteran serving in South Pacific and occupation of Japan in WWII. He also was a member of Valley Lodge #511 F&AM, American Legion, and Southside Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter Norma June Jackson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Hazel Close Lampton; grandchildren, Jennifer Wills, Graylan Wills, Lorena Spiwak and Jessica Jackson; ten great-grandchildren; and nieces, Evelyn Chynoweth, Donna Koenig and Joann Close.
A celebration of his life will be conducted Saturday February 26, 2011 at noon at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven with private entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-8 on Friday at the funeral home.
