Lee is survived by his spouse, Susan P. Weese, children, Zeb Weese (Mary), Cindy Kolody (Steve), Debbie Bohannon (Willie), Carol Lyons, Laura Jordan (Jason) and Mike Collins (Kate). He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Lee was born in Norton, WV to Vallie and Henry Weese. He cherished and appreciated his parents. His dad was a coal miner and was very industrious. Lee played ball with his dad and the men's team. He loved cars, and the first of his many cars was a Crosley. He loved to drive and was able to travel in his career and in retirement, when he finally had a chance to see the Old West museums.
He loved spending time with his family, especially baby sitting with his grandsons during their early years. He enjoyed helping others. He loved country music, opera, and Dean Martin songs. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and watching sports. He played football and pitched softball while in the military.
Lee enjoyed 20 years in the US Army as a Military Policeman and a Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Agent. In his civilian career he worked for both Jefferson County and the state of Kentucky as a criminal investigator, including with the KY Board of Medical Licensure. He valued lifetime learning and earned a masters degree and Ph.D. He always told people that "if you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life".
He had a strong faith and treasured the biblical teachings and fellowship with church members. He enjoyed his time and friends at Baptist Milestone Fitness including working out and sharing stories at the coffee table.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 5-7pm at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Louisville KY 40222.
A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 10 AM in the Sanctuary of Beargrass Christian Church, 4100 Shelbyville Rd. Louisville KY 40207. A burial will be held on a later date at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff KY.
