Kathy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a fierce advocate for equity and social justice.
She was preceded in rest by her parents J.W. Reece and Nelda Freeman; and a sister, Debbi Reece Ianotti.
Kathy is survived by her husband of 37 years, Stephen Dowdle; two daughters, Jessica Bishop (Eric) and Blair Dowdle (Charles); three grandchildren, Parker, Bodhi and Gus; a brother, Wesley Reece (Cheri); a sister, Susan Reece; and nieces, Angela Leigh and Jordan Shields (Blake) and a nephew, Jeremiah Reece (Kim).
Her funeral will be at 7pm on Tuesday, November 29th, at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway. She was a friend of Bill W and Jimmy K and there will be a 12 step recovery meeting to follow.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1pm until the time of service.
Cremation was chosen.
