Johnson, J.W., 78, passed away on September 22, 2014. J.W. was an over the road, self-employed truck driver for 43 years. His C.B. handle was "Jaybird". J.W. was an excellent pool and poker player and was known to hustle people while playing both. He was a man who was rough around the edges, but had a soft heart. He was a good father and loved being a Papaw.
Preceding him in death is his son, Dennie; and siblings, Diane, Ray, Lucille, and Doris.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Jesse; grandchildren, Angel, James, Jeff, Jacob, Shay, Joey, Amy, Little Jesse, and Jasmine; 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Nellie, Evelyn, Helen, and Shirley; former wife, Laverne; step daughters, Debbie and Diana; best friend, Jack; and a host of family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will also be on Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery.
