TROJE, JOSEPH A. (Joe) died November 12, 2024. Mr. Troje was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, a WWII AAF Weather Observer 21st Bomber Command on Guam – 1944 to 1945. He was a 1948 graduate (Management Engineering) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York. Joe spent most of his career in the packaging industry working 14 years at Ohio Boxboard in Rittman, Ohio and finished his career with McKay Engraving in Louisville (a subsidiary of Bemis Packaging Corporation), where he retired as President after 26 years.
Joe was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, a Kentucky Colonel and former member of Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Stephanie Troje, Brother Albert and sisters Marian and Dorothy Willingham.
Joe is survived by his wife Dorothy (Dot) of 71 years, their four children: Joseph, Louisville, KY; Dr. Barbara, Las Vegas, NM; Suzanne (Scott Ki), Boise, ID and Frances of Louisville and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation on Sunday at Arch L. Heady, Westport Village from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. as well as a visitation at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A celebration of his life will be held at St. Bernadette at 11 a.m.
The burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery at a later date. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Bernadette or Hosparus.
