Jerry Wayne Godbey

Jerry Wayne Godbey, 73 of Prospect, passed away December 31, 2019. Jerry was raised on a farm in Eubank, KY, the son of the late Rufus and Dollie Godbey. Jerry worked at Farm Credit Services for 27 years. He was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church for 45 years. He was a proud EKU Colonel, having played basketball all 4 years 1965-1969.

He is preceded in death by his daughter: Allison Godbey Crupi.

Left to cherish Jerry’s memory are his beloved wife of 50 years: Carolyn Hill Godbey; his son: Matthew (Jennifer) Godbey; his grandchildren who knew him as “Pops”: Nathan Crupi, Rufus Godbey, and Maris Godbey; his brother: Brent Godbey (Sherrie Ellen); his son-in-law: Mike Crupi (Alicia); multiple nieces and nephews; and an abundance of friends with whom he enjoyed golfing, pinochle, and traveling.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation 200 SE 1st Street Suite 800 Miami, FL 33131.

A memorial service will be held 3 PM Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Covenant United Methodist Church 909 W Jefferson St, La Grange, KY 40031. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-3 PM at the church.
