HOOD, JAMES E. SR., 88, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Hosparus Downtown. He was a retired commercial artist for Chevron Corporation, and a World War II Army veteran where he was a top sergeant and a mechanic. He was a member of Immanual Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Hood; parents, Lottie T. (Long) and Joe Henry Hood; brothers, Elize, Lonnie and Otis Hood; and sisters, Pauline Miller and Francis Harlow. He is survived by his children, Sue Ireland (George), James Hood, Jr. (Brenda) and Deborah K. Feger (Larry); a sister, Christine Miller (Curtis); seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. A celebration of James' life will be 4 p.m. Monday at O.D. White & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday.
