James "Jim" Fogle was born on June 7, 1931, in Bardstown, Kentucky, the fourth of five children. Jim married his childhood sweetheart Sylvia "Dolly" Smith in 1949 and that love continued for 74 more years. After marriage, Jim and Sylvia moved to Louisville, Kentucky, to begin a family, welcoming three daughters. Jim, a hardworking man, started work at International Harvester foundry in 1952 and stayed until he retired in 1981. Jim also loved playing music and was self-taught on all instruments which allowed him to play the electric bass, in live bands on weekends when he was able. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who reliably supported his family, loved fishing, and understood the value of saving.
Jim is survived and dearly missed by his three beloved daughters: Wendy Wuerth, Charlotte Allgeier, and Peggy Adkins; and two grandsons: David Allgeier and Shane Adkins.
Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia "Dolly" Fogle; his parents: William Joseph and Anna Fogle; three brothers: Leo Fogle, James Monroe "JM", Fogle and Francis Caleb "Franki" Fogle; and sister: Cleo Zinsious "Toopie".
