Helen Louise Miller

Helen Louise Miller, 86, of Louisville, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018. Born in Clarkson, KY, she was the youngest of 9 children born to Sophia and Finis Bailes. Her siblings Wilbur, Chester, Charles, Virgil, James, Edna, Maggie, and Lula all predeceased her.

After a fall from a barn loft at age 5, Helen spent a year in the hospital as one of the first Kosair Kids. She developed a very strong will to live and love of God and her family which sustained her all of her life. She is survived by Randall, her devoted husband of 71 years and children Phyllis (John) Humphrey and Ronnie (Lynn) Miller.

Helen cared for and is survived by 4 grandchildren, Rhonda Miller, David Graham, Melanie Wright and Jennifer Folks, with 8 great-grandchildren. Helen worked tirelessly caring for her home, farm, and family. She was a member of Faith Chapel General Baptist Church. She is best remembered for her desire and drive to help others.

The family wishes to thank Sylvaughnna Hays who has helped Helen during the last 2 ½ years.

Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Tuesday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday at Faith Chapel General Baptist Church, 4720 Dover Road, followed by burial at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
